Datawrite Titanium?? Hype??

Datawrite's new Titanium disc selling for less than the greys at SVP? Is
this just marketing smoke'n'mirrors or is there some real substance here?

Cant find any kprobe scans online....

Emphasis on construction ...

[probably from press release]

"As we all know titanium is one of the most stable and strongest metals
obtainable in the world today. Its strength and reliability is world
renowned, even used by NASA on the Space Shuttle. This latest disc from
Datawrite has been codenamed “Titanium”, and utilises the rock solid
Mitsubishi dye normally found in high-end discs by Verbatim.

Practically indestructible through normal usage
Burn Speed 8x

Dye: MCC (Mitsubishi dye)"

Odd and SVP says

DYE= CMC MAG. AE1 (Hmmmmm)

Same as Datasafe 8x (but not Verbatim AFAIK)

Interesting that SVP are still selling it for less that the greys. I'll
email them and report back!

Q to SVP

"There seems to be some confusion over this disc on the DVD forums.

Can you guys shed any light ? Is it CMC dye or Mitsubishi dye with CMC
Lead In???"

Reply from SVP

"Hi.

This disc has a CMC dye.

Kind regards,"

Going by price alone I'm assuming the greys are still a better quality
disc and the titanium is a marketing exercise. Still not on their
website yet though - maybe due to crimbo break!
