Why not just use Nero's CD-DVDSpeed?

Your drive doesn't support PI/PO reporting, and until LG does add that
feature, there's nothing you can do about it from the software end.
You can indirectly measure burn quality by using the default test. If
the graph looks smooth (CLV) or has the plateau groupings (Z-CAV), the
disc probably has very few errors. If you get the occasional spike or
dip, that's not normal, that's an error region, but it's likely not a
problem if it's not major. If the graph has regions that look like
the NASDAQ or TSE (stock exchanges) daily trading graphs, that's not
good. It means the drive is having a LOT of trouble reading that
region and is hopping all over trying to find a speed that the disc is
readable at.
The drive has to have DMA enabled and not be in an enclosure or be on
an add-on controller. Having the drive in an enclosure, or in PIO
mode or running off an add-on controller can cause all sorts of speed
fluctations that have nothing to do with disc quality.

Do you know which drives support PI and/or PO reporting, besides
LiteOn and Benq/Philips? What about NEC 3520 and Pioneer A08?

On the CDDVDSpeed site, you'll find a list of supported drives. It's
a small list, primarily because there aren't too many drives that
support PI/PO reporting:

I can say with relative certainty that the NEC 3500, NEC 3520 and
Pioneer A08 and A09 do NOT support PI or PO reporting. As far as I
know, none of the drives that use the NEC controller chipsets do. Both
the Pioneer burners (so far) and the NEC drives (obviously) use the
NEC controllers. It's on the wishlist, but NEC hasn't made any
announcements one way or the other about adding or not adding the
feature. Wouldn't count on it though.
