DVD+/-R unreliable???
Posted by ElJerid on January 11th, 2005

I create own movies with Adobe Premiere and author them with Sonic DVDit 2.5
or Ulead DVD WS2. Up to now, I made 80 DVD-R (from TDK) without any problem.
Recently I burned 20 new DVD's from a Ulead image file and the results are
unreliable. Some DVD's work perfectly, others hang after 20 min (always 20
min, not more, not less), others don't start at all. On Sony home players
and PC players, there are practically no problems. On home players from
Samsung, Cyberhome, Daewoo, Philips or Yamaha there are practically always
problems. I burn with a Sony DRU510 and a recent Liteon on media from Sony,
Memorex, Verbatim and TDK DVD-R's.
All of them give randomly errors as mentioned above.
Is there someone experiencing similar problems or having an explanation for
this issue?
Thanks anyways for help.

I use a pioneer drive to burn my media and not had any troubles with

Could be a bad batch of discs or perhaps the drive has a fault.
Try a pioneer to burn to the media if you have tried several discs.
