I updated my Sony DRU-510A dvd burner to the latest firmware (1.1A) but now
I have trouble writing Bulkpaq 4X dvd-r.

I would like to downgrade to the previous firmware version (1.0a or 1.0b)
but it seems those versions aren't avalilable.

If anyone can help please let me know.

Will not successfully burn an Imation -R, but will burn a TDK +R.

Also have a 510-A here at home and the upgrade caused no problems.

Sony's tech support answer is:

"If the media is not on our supported list we don't guarentee it to work.
Flashing to a higher version of the firmware can make the drive more
sensitive to media!"

Note the TDK brand is on the approved media list and Imation is not.

I won't be buying another Sony branded drive. I'll just buy the Lite-On
next time.
