- Media Question
- Posted by Paul on January 20th, 2004
I bought some DVD+R's from a local shop just as a first batch for a newly
acquired DVD Rewriter. I have been able to play a unregionalised DVD copy
(yes I have the region 1 original) on all my players , my sons xbox and a
region 2 dvd/TV combi. I think that I must have been lucky. Now I know a
media that will play on all of my machines I want to stick to it. All I care
about is compatibility.
How can I guarantee that all the media I buy is the same.
The media is Aritek branded but shows up as
Media code/Manufacturer ID RICOHJPNR01
Media Id Code Speed 4.0x 5540KBps

If you're buying retail, it's hard to ensure tha
the next batch of DVD+R's you get will be the
same, until you open them up and check
them. I'd consider a media specialty shop if
you want to stick with one brand
Also, I'd check sites like dvdrhelp.com.
Others have generously added their
experiences and perhaps you might find other
brands that will be just as compatible. Bette
to have two+ compatible brands than one t
choose from
