- New burner and nero
- Posted by spizz on May 31st, 2004
I've just installed a NEC ND2500a to replace a Panasonic SW-9581 (2X DVD-RW)
and Nero does not give me the option to burn to DVD now. All it wants to
burn to is an image file. The drive is not recognised at all. It is version
5.5.9.9 of Nero and I'm sure I downloaded a plug in to enable DVD support
when I installed the Panasonic last year but I can't find it now after
googling for the last hour.
Can anyone shed any light on this, is it just a plug in I need? Anyone know
where to find it?
Thanks for looking

You need to update it to 5.5.10.56 and make sure you have the latest
firmware. I had the same issue a couple of months back.

you need the latest nero upgrade free from their website and new firmware to
make it write at 8x, as the original firmware with the ND2500a cant see all
8x media at 8x.

Thanks for the replys. I updated to 5.5.10.56 and now I can't select my
burner as it says Nero must only be used with the drive it was bundled with.
Buggered if I can find the serial number it came with to try that. Thanks
anyway for your help guys.

burner which has been altered to work only with burners for that particular
manufacturer. Will need to get yourself an official version or install the
version that came with your new burner (assuming it came with Nero).

I downloaded Nero's update files and had a somewhat similar problem, so I
uninstalled the complete program, and then reinstalled it, to effectively
get rid of the updates. (I don't know if that will help you much in your
situation or not, though).
