Philips DVDR 3300 control via Philips LCD display remote control possible ?
Posted by Jeanmarie.Desgor@gmail.com on February 15th, 2006

We are using :
- Philips DVDR 3300
- Philips LCD display 32 PF 9830 / 10 and associated remote control
RC4310

Is somebody able to control this DVDR with the standard Philips LCD
display remote control (reference RC4310) ?

It seems possible in the LCD user manual but i can't figure it to work
!
I managed to change the Remote Control Direct Entry Code to 500 or 524
according to the RC4310 documentation for peripheral equipment but
nothing work...

Anybody successfull ? any ideas
Thanks

Code 500 and 524 are listed as DVD, which means DVD-Player.
Philips use different IR-codes for recorders. Call their support
number or see if you can set up the DVDR3300 so that it also listens
to the DVD-Player commands. Other DVDR models from Philips can do
that. You may be able to control at least the playback this way.

The Third option is to try to learn in the codes. (But I don't know if
the DVDR3300 use toggling codes or not. Philips new cheap DVD players
do, and are not suitable for a learning remote.)

Thank you Jan.
I'm going to contact Philips support to try to get the proper code
suitable for DVDR.
DVDR and Flat screen are both quite new generation equipment and it
seems strange that RC are not compatible.

About "toggling codes" i'm going to try if it is possible to use
learning mode.
