Intel's retail chips are no different from the OEM ones. There is the
danger that companies supplying 'guaranteed overclockable' CPUs will have
sorted through OEM ones though. They can then sell the best performers at a
premium, while selling the slower ones as standard CPUs (i.e. no reduction
in value). Although it's possible for someone to perform these sort of
tests on a DVD, there are just too many brands of media for anyone to prove
much about the quality in a reasonable time.
