And if you aren't interested in helping the guy and just want to be a
smartass, why don't you just fuck off and die?
Everyone has the right to ask questions, if you think its irrelevant, don't
bother reading those.
I'm sure he can do without the selfrighteous pompous ass responses of yours.

"It turns out there is such a thing as a stupid question. It's the one that
gets asked right after someone answered it for the 100th time in a newsgroup
discussion. Most discussion forums have a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
section where commonly asked questions are posted and answered."

I appreciate your assistance, but I forgive him.
I am not looking to be led by the hand, I just had no idea of where to begin
my research.
My presentations are designed to make 'boring' concepts, more appealing to
my audiences, during training. I insert applicable humorous clips from
movies to help with the introduction of the next topic. I also intend to
make a "best of" DVD of my kids favorite action movie (e.g. Fight scenes
from Rocky, Jackie Chan, etc.).
I'm sorry that this guy thought I was looking for a handout.
My thanks to you all that have helped me at this point. I couldn't check
the newsgroups from work because our firewall won't let me. That's why I
requested the responses directly to my email.
I know my reply here is not necessary, but I wanted you all to know that I
appreciate your assistance.

Well, that was certainly a polite addition to the discussion.
For the record, my objection was to the request for private mail responses
to a public newsgroup post. Most people consider that rude, especially when
the topic is complex, frequently discussed, and/or available through a
simple search.
I note that the OP has returned to read replies and thank those who provided
links. Good for him, I respect that.
I see nothing in your post more helpful than "fuck off and die," so I'm not
sure where your superior attitude comes from.

An illiterate insult from across the Atlantic. I feel honored.
By popular request, I now step down from my soapbox, hand over my deputy
netkop badge (it pinched anyway,) and return control of these various
cross-posted newsgroups to the trolls and misfits who revel in their chaos.
Happy trails to all.
P.S. to the original poster, you'll find everything you need at
http://www.dvdrhelp.com/ and http://www.doom9.org/ among others. More info,
less attitude. My apologies if I came down too harshly at first.
I read your question, which has been asked and answered many times before,
and saw your request for answers via private mail. It touched a nerve, as I
believe people should try to do their own homework on complex subjects. When
they can't find the answers, a public forum is the best way to share the
information with all.
The next round goes on my tab, bartender.

Everyone has to begin somewhere. Most people are overcome with information,
at least that's my worst problem using the internet. Some of its
applicable, some of its biased, some of its relevant to your needs and some
not. I, like you, don't want to be handed the silver platter. Just a start
in the right direction, with a few pointers about obstacles and
misdirection.
But, in newsgroups, many of the same questions are asked over and over and
over (you get the idea). Most can find the answers simply reading the last
7 days worth of posts and responses. Most don't read any, simply want
individual attention and minimum use of their own time getting the answers.
This is the point / counterpoint. No one is being anal.

And to reiterate if you have any internet access at all, you can read the
newsgroup from http://tinyurl.com/sdg4 even at work. Just don't get caught.

smartass responses to perfectly legit question.
