- Recommendations on DVD/CD/VCD recorders that

can make multiple copies fast. I work with a local band that wants
their music on either a DVD, cd, or vcd to promote their music. At
certain times during their promotion at clubs, they like to distribute/
sell their stuff, so they would have 60-70 copies made. Obviously, i
could make these copies one by one with my current dvd-r on my laptop,
but this would take forever. I need to know which brands, makers out
there that can reproduce on a big scale. Thanks.

Actually duplicators that have several DVD writers and a hard-drive
for the master are not that expensive in comparison.
One place to check [I just get their catalogs but have never
bought from them] is http://www.diskmakers.com.
They have an Ultra 7 model that has a 250GB HD, 7 DVD/CD writers,
but the caveat is that the specs say it will only burn
on the Diskmakers Ultramedia. List price is $599 - and it's
spec'd at 56DVDs or 105 CD-Rs per hour.
Their Reflex-7 lists for $799 but will take any media.
For those who need real throughput their Reflex/Blackjack
cost $2499 but will dupe 150 DVD-Rs or 250 CD-Rs per hour.
They also have some interesting products for small volume
commercial users, including those that duplicate, unload the disk,
and put it into a printer to make labels.
And I've seen other brands cheaper.

CopyPlus Duplicator towers are available. These use Pioneer drives.
Make sure you get them with the Pioneer DVR-112D with firmware 1.15 on
all the drives.
Or if you have the spare bays in your computer you can have a few DVD
burners going at once which will save buying a duplicator tower.
I have in my PC 4 DVD burners which with Nero Burning ROM I can set to
burn 4 drives at once which takes about 8 minutes on my computer.
Note that Nero Express versions don;t hav ean option for multiple
drive burning like nero Burning ROM does.
My PC has two internal SATA hard drives and 4 IDE ports for CD/DVD
burners. I have two burners set to Master and two set to slave. This
way I can have 4 DVD burners burning at once. If you like I can take a
picture of what this looks like and post it on my web page.
Some computers may not be able to do this so post your computer specs
as it maybe a way to go.
Another option is to get a DVD Authoring business to do the work for
you. If you are going to be doing this quite a bit then there are some
other gadgets which you may want to look into.
Primera has Bravo DVD Duplicator with built in robotic arm to take the
disc to its printer in the one kit. These are a bit expensive here in
Australia but if in the US you may get a good price.
Printing on media can be done with the Bravo but if that's a bit to
expensive then there are CD/DVD printers around that print one disc at
a time. Canon and Epson both have good printers out that are only
about $160 AUS where they have a special printer tray to feed in the
ink jet printable DVD media.
I use an Epson Stylus Photo R230 printer to print onto DVD-R ink jet
printable full face media and the quality looks quite stunning. I have
an example print on the following web site:
