I am going to tape the days play in the cricket today between Aus and India
on my Panasonic E85 HDD.
Is it better to use flexible Recording mode (FR) or Extended recording mode
(ER).
The way I am reading it is if I do it in FR mode and edit it down to around
5 1/2 hours with adverts etc for the days play taken out, when I go to hgh
speed dub to DVD-R does the panasonic recorder improve the bitrate slightly
when it dubs to a 2 hour DVD-R ?
Can someone explain to me which method will be better

dont do it in FR or EP, too crap, either use two discs and do each one at 3
hours, or do i disc for each session in SP ( which i will be doing ).

I use SP. The lowest I will go is three hours using FR but 90% of the time
SP is the only way to go.

High speed dubs don't change the bitrate when going from HDD to DVD so
1.5hrs SP on HDD leaves 05.hrs spare on the disk.
For best results record to HDD at highest quality possible and after editing
use FR to record to disk. The final quality is then controlled by the total
time of the clips you have on the playlist. The downside is no high speed
only realtime recording.

I recommend a Flexible Willow to record cricket.
