- Recording DD with Panasonic E50

I have a dvd-r that plays in 5.1 Dolby Digital. When I copy this disc with
my Panasonic E50, the dub does not read on my receiver as 5.1 DD, but as
Dolby surround. I'm new to recording so this puzzles me. Any ideas?
