- RecordNow Doesn't List DVD-ROM Drive When Trying to Make Backups
- Posted by Chris Sherlock on August 25th, 2005
My computer came with Version 5.0 of RecordNow installed on it. I want to
make backups of the data on my computer to DVD. However, when I click on
the "Make a Data Disc" option in RecordNow, the Device to Write To shows up
as my CD-ROM drive and there is no apparent way to change the device to my
DVD-ROM drive. I have an option of changing the "write to" drive to an
external CD-ROM drive on my computer, but no option to change to the DVD-ROM
drive. Is there a way to manipulate RecordNow to do what I want to do, or
do I need to use some other kind of backup software to accomplish this?
Thanks for any help.

A DVD-ROM drive is a read only device.

You need a DVD burner, you can't burn with a DVD-ROM.
