TVGOS (TV Guide OnScreen) has been a flaky system for me, but most of
the time it works. Recently, however, it has been resetting on its own.
I enter the Listings, and all I see is "The Guide is rebuilding your
chanel list based on your Setup change." So I have no Channel List, no
Program Listings, and changing channel with Up and Down arrows changes
by one number at a time instead of my selected channels. All the rest
is there - Recordings, Search (incomplete), Schedule.

Really irritating, because I did NOT run Setup. This occurs
spontaeously.

After the second occurrence, it occurred to me that both times I had
been copying titles to DVD-RW and playing some back from there.
Eventually, I got messages saying the disk was bad. Continued prodding
got the disk to play again. But now the TVGOS says it's rebuilding the
channels list.

My hunch is that something with the DVD-RW disks is causing a TVGOS
reset. (By the way, nothing is wrong with the disk.)

A real problem, because it takes many days to rebuild this channels
list. I have intentionally re-entered my Zip code to try to speed it
up. Not sure if that helps.

Anybody else see a connection between TVGOS and DVD's of any kind in
this Toshiba?
