What to buy, Pioneer A06 or Sony 510, or NEC 1300 ???
What is your take on that?
I don't care about software, will get OEM anyway.
All I care is getting good fast burns with pretty much any media.
Since all these drives are somewhere in the same price range, I am puzzled,
which one to buy.
You are welcome to post any thoughts.

Pioneer A06. Sony has some firmware problems at odd times.
If yuo get thesony dru510a model then you may need to update the
firmware to 1.0c
The Sony burners do not burn at the same speed as the pioneers and I
have proof of this as I've seen friends burn a full disk is just over
16 mins yet for the same video it burn at just over 14 mins on my
pioneer a05 or a06.
Pioneer has the runs on the board where the others are playing catch
up.

Athough I have not had any previous experience with any DVD RW drives, my
Pioneer 106 is my favourite peripheral currently on my pc, its excellent.

I am waiting for the LG/Hitachi GSA-4040B or the OEM version Iomega Super DVD.
They not only do the DVD-R/+R and DVD-RW/+RW, but also DVD RAM. Same price range.

Likewise. I have the LG 4020B and the Sony U10A - so I can replace both.
