- 64 bit firewire cards?
- Posted by Ward Taylor on December 17th, 2006
Hello
Does anyone know of a 64 bit firewire, possibly usb 2.0 combo card that
can run at a bus speed of 66 or 100mhz? I have an older tyan 2885 with
pci-x slots that I would like to upgrade to firewire 800 and usb 2.0,
but I don't want a card that is going to force the bus back to 33mhz.
Thanks for any and all replies

Doesn't look to be cheap.

There looks to be a bit of stuff which is 33MHz 64 bit, but that
is definitely not what you are looking for.
Another option, is to go with an expansion chassis. But, again,
this is priced in the astronomy catagory. The host card on this
thing, runs at 66MHz.

It would almost be cheaper to network to a second computer, and
put your I/O cards in there :-)
