- 8 port gigabit switch recommendation?
- Posted by Calab on February 22nd, 2008
We've run out of gigabit ports on our DLink DIR-655 router so we're looking
to purchase an 8 port gigabit switch. The DLink can do 9K jumbo frames, so
we'd like a switch that can do the same.
Any switches out there to look for? Any dogs to avoid?
Thx!

I use SMC's SMC8508T, it was the first to use Jumbo
Packets. There is some debate about the early manufactured
boxes and some problems with 9K. I had no problems with
9K in the testing I did, but I run my LAN set for 4.5K frames.
It's been a solid performer, for me.
Luck;
Ken
