- Cannot opemn MY Comuter

When I click on My Computer it takes about 10 minutes and then only
goes to the desktop.
If I right click start and go to EXPLORE it opens with everthing
closed up. I then try to expand MY Computer but it won't open.
If I open Office 2003 (WORD) and do a file open new the box that you
navigate in locks up.
I can open Word files only from the files themselves but not from
within Word.
Any suggestions?

drives, disconnect all but your boot drive and see if your system peps up.
