Certance/Seagate IDE Tape Backup Fails
Posted by Karl Burrows on September 28th, 2004

Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix an issue I am having with a
Certance 20/40GB IDE Tape drive. It will start the backup process reading
all the files to backup and will get about 10% through and just shut down.
I have run TapeRX and it said everything is fine. I tried to update the
firmware and it fails. I couldn't find much more on the support site.

Any suggestions or is there any other info I can provide?

Thanks!

Is anything running in the background. Antivirus? Spyware software?

Symantec Corporate Edition v9.0, no Spyware. Didn't have any problems with
Symantec before. Backup ran for about 6 months before it wigged out.
