- comming out from sleep mode problem

hi got a ibm thinkpad 600e with win2000 pro on it , just recently after the
system comes out of sleep the screen wont come on, it sort of lights up but
stays black but i have to reboot with power switch to get it back. Any ideas
what could be causing this ??? bugging me abit as i mainly use this laptop
as my mirc/mail machine ..

holding f2 to getting into bios i'm greeted with some test i can run on
hardware but no bios settings as such? is there another bios / way to get
into the setings i can change ?

One way that never seems to fail , is presssing all the top buttons esc,
f1,f2 (ect, ect) , at the same time, hope it helps.
