- Dual boot SP-3 & Vista
- Posted by daveiosys on May 9th, 2008
Running XP Professional SP-2.
Created second partition on hard drive to install Vista.
SP-3 just released.
Are there additional issues with SP-3 running a dualboot with Vista o
second partition?
Should I NOT upgrade to SP-3 given that SP-2 is working well befor
installing Vista

Do one thing at a time, either upgrade to SP3 and test the
result of that (so you know you have at least one viable OS
for your use/needs) for awhile before installing vista, - OR
- leave the XP installation static and install Vista and
test that before XP's SP3.
In general, no, installing SP3 for XP should not pose any
addt'l problems with a dual boot vista config. being added
as you wish to do.

You posted back in April that you wondered whether Acronis Disk Director Suite
would allow you to run XP Professional and Vista via a startup menu at
boot time and I wondered if you have found out the answer yet and could let me
know how well it works when you have tried it ?
Thanks,
