DVD DMA Setting
Posted by Bob on July 17th, 2005

I installed a DVD burner and it is not configured for DMA.

How do I configure it for DMA? I tried to do it in Device Manager but
I cannot find the place to do it.

I am running Win2K / SP4.

Did you look at the IDE controller entry in Device Manager rather than just
the entry for the drive?

Yep, that's it. I knew it was somewhere. I wonder who set it to PIO
only. Probably Windows from a previous installation - I had a CD-RW in
that position.

Thanks.

The one I was looking for is in Device Manager under IDE ATA/ATAPI
Controllers.
