- LCD vs. CRT monitor help (Samsung or HP variety...)

Hey all,
I am currently using a 17" CRT monitor at 1024x768 @ 85Hz. I am planning
to buy an LCD monitor. My question is, will I notice anything different in
terms of viewing area if I buy a 15" LCD monitor? Will it be smaller, bigger
or the same? As well as this, will there be more or less flickering? Since I
think 15" LCD monitors run at a native resolution of 1024x768 @ 75Hz.
Another question, would I be better off getting a 17" LCD? And as well
as this, are LCDs good for gaming? I am looking to buy one of the following
LCD monitors:
* Samsung 15" 153 TFT LCD Monitor *
* HP Pavilion F1503 TFT LCD Monitor *
Has anyone used/tried any of the above? Any comments? Any other
suggestions?

It will be smaller but only slightly so. As far as flicker, no because a
LCD doesn't "Refresh" as a traditional monitor. However if you play alot of
fast paced games where there is a lot of redraw, LCD's have a problem where
they blur when redrawing rapidly. Not badly but annoying. But you do save
ALOT of desk space.

BTW, sorry for the duplicate posting (I tried to cancel right after I posted
the second one). When I posted the second one, I was under the impression
that the first one did not get sent (this is because my "Sent Date" column
was set to ascending instead of descending :@). Sorry once again..

I myself have a Samsung 150MP 15" LCD and am loving it. I play games on it
all the time and have seen no problems or lag. I know that the refresh rate
on my LCD is about 65Hz but Viewsonic LCD's have a higher refresh rate.
As for size, the 15" LCD is approximately the same viewable as a 17" CRT
In my opinion your probably going to be paying too much or an HP LCD monitor
just becuase of the brand.
