Parallel-only printer to USB port

Has anyone had any success with a USB-to-centronics (parallel) cable?

I want to plug an HP Deskjet 820Cxi printer (which does not have a USB
port) into an Abit IC7-MAX3 board (which has no parallel port).

Belkin sell a USB-to-centronics cable, but I can't find out whether it
is a certainty to work on this printer under Windows XP Pro. Will there
be driver issues?

Just out of curiosity, why in the world would you buy a board without a
parallel port if wanting to attach a parallel interfaced printer?

I would buy from someplace with a good return policy, or buy it real cheap
like here (keyword search "U1P36"):

Don't know if it'll work though, but I suspect it's as likely to as the
belkin version.

The machine was not intended to use the old printer, but now the plans
have been changed. Not my choice.
