I have installed a USB 2 card on my PC,
do I need special USB 2 cables to get the extra speed?

If yes, how do I tell the difference between USB 1.1 and USB 2 cables?

Does the USB connection on the printer etc need to be USB2 he extra speed?

please let me know

regards

Daniel

A standard USB cable will work, unless your peripherals are also USB 2.0, you will see no gains what so ever.

Not true. The new Canon (which I've got on order) specifically states
USB2/FireWire. See for yourself http://tinyurl.com/ytb5v.

Having USB2 support and needing it are two different things.
*Most* of the inkjet winprinters have a very small, few dozen KB buffer so
they're not going to have a whole page at a time spooled out to them at
once, rather a few lines at a time so even a lowly serial port might be
fast enough.

Thanks for your help,
what about my Digital Camera, which take a while to download
to my Hard Drive,
does it need to be USB 2 to get the extra speed?

thanks

Some flash memory will read only about 1 MB/sec and will not benefit from USB2. Other memory is much faster.

EVERY device needs to be USB 2.0, doesn't matter what it is.

thanks
