- Serial ATA drivers for fresh install of WinXP???
- Posted by Alceryes on December 26th, 2003
A friend of mine wants to do a fresh install of WinXP on a new SATA hard
drive. Of course it errors out soon after starting the install because WinXP
doesn't have native SATA support. I know that if he had the drivers on a
floppy disk he could hit 'F6' during the setup and install the SATA drivers
(WinXP calls them SCSI drivers), but I can't find the drivers anywhere!
Well, I did find them but they're in .exe format and I need them in .dll and
..sys files format.
The board is the Intel D865GBF motherboard. Any help would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks.

Have you tried running the exe to see if it's a selfextracting zip file?
