UK stores
Posted by CK on April 12th, 2005

I'm in the market for hard drives. IDE hard drives, particularly.

I was wondering if anyone here had any recommendations for online stores
to look at. I'm probably looking at smallish quantities - 10-20 or so.

TIA.

i use ebuyer, for most of my stuff, i heard there real bad at RMA, but there
prices are lowest i've found in the uk, plus their delivery prices aren't
too bad. Plus they got a great selection of OEM stuff, the only place on the
web that sells win xp oem(that i know of)
www.ebuyer.com

If you want service i recommend dabs, had to rma a couple of things with
them, and they were pretty good about it, no questions, just collected the
product and gave me my money back.
www.dabs.com

You can get HDD's from amazon, but they have a limited range
www.amazon.co.uk

one of my mates recommended to me
www.scan.co.uk
&
rl supplies

i haven't used either but there prices aren't bad
last but not least is
www.microdirect.co.uk
they always got lots of good offers, but i'm not sure how good they really
are as i never used.

Personally i would recommend buying smaller value items in bulk first from
them to test the water.

i've spent over £500 on ebuyer and have nothing bad to say about them, i
like their site cause they got customer reviews and comments from people who
have used their products.

I just bought a batch of 40Gb maxtors from Novatech (UK). I've often dealt
with them. I have also used eBuyer with no problems.
