I have dual CRT monitors but the 2nd VGA monitor connected from the DVI
output of the GFX card has much better colour quality than the 1st VGA
monitor.

Both monitors are same manufacturer, model and resolution and the 2nd
monitor uses a DVI-to-VGA monitor.

Q: Is this normal for both TFT & CRT monitors?

Swap the cables around and see if the same monitor looks as good as before.

My wife has two identical monitors and when both are set with the same
settings they are nothing like each other.
