- alexa rating of 350,000
- Posted by Plato on March 24th, 2006
Any idea how many unique users/day a site with a 350,000 alexa rating
has?
Or a site with a 100,000 rating for that matter?
Thanks.
ps the reason Im asking is somebody is trying to sell me a site and he
says he has 4,000 unique users/day but he has a 350,000 alexa rating and
it doesnt seem Kosher.

He's probably pulling your leg, but it could be true. Alexa basis the
rankings on how many visits it gets to said site from people using the
alexa toolbar.
My site is 3 months old and has a one week ranking of 320,000 at the
moment--and I get no where near 4k uniques a day. More like 300.
What's the site?

Well, since it sounds like a scam, which is why I was investigating
further, I certainly dont want to advertise a scammers URL. Thanks a lot
tho for that data point. Another odd thing, the email I got had a .ru
address, but the site is registered to a USA address and a usa email.
Your data point sounds realistic.
Thanks

No worries.
..ru is (I believe) a Russia domain suffix so it's weird the site
registered in the US would be using a Russian email. But then again, I
have a domain and I use gmail for most of my email correspondence for
the conversation feature so who knows. It's plausible he's telling the
truth, but I personally wouldn't bet on it.
