about a month ago ...
due to boredom and curiosity...i put an AOL cd into a computer i was going
to format and reload...

after AOL setup i was asked to select a payment method
and i canceled the option to pay by credit or check...
after canceling that option, it immediately went into a dialog box
stating that i would just be billed to the phone number i was calling from
and the only option was to click "ok"
there was no option to cancel

i hit control-alt-delete and shut down the installer

then formatted the drive


today in the mail i received a postcard thanking me for joining AOL
and stating that after my free trail was over i would be billed to my phone
number!

i had to call them and tell them to *cancel* anything they had done!


the next time an AOL cd comes in the mail...
i will not even bring it into the house!

sticking
another one of those cd's in my machine again!
