- Archiving encrypted containers (Best Crypt)
- Posted by Use.Netuser.de on June 18th, 2004
Hi Group
Having a broadband connection I use Jetico Best Crypt to store my personal stuff in
a 50MB virtual container which like all my other files are [should be] backed up to
an external drive using Second Copy. The problem is that the container is not copied
as Windows XP tells me the container is in use by another application. I exit Best
Crypt (actually kill from taskbar) ensuring nothing is mounted same result. Actually
I can only delete the container from inside Best Crypt or from Safe Mode so a simple
copy and paste doesn't work either.
Q. Should I be mounting this virtual container then using Second Copy to copy all
the files etc then unmounting?
Q. Is there a file attribute I can change or something so the virtual container can
be copied?
Note: I also use NAT and a firewall for protection.
Thanks

Ok, dumb as it may seem I found a solution. Run Best Crypt, right click container,
select delete container (backup copy), delete container and then manually copy and
paste to archive location. Pain in the ass but needs must.
