- Auto Shutdown.
- Posted by chkmte55@hotmail.com on September 22nd, 2003
Hello,
I have a problem with auto shutdown. Till last week the computer would
auto shutoff when I went to 'start' and shutdown from there. Now I
have to wait after shutdown is clicked for a message that says 'it is
now safe to turn off your computer' and manually turn it off using the
computer power switch in front. The computer is running Win98se. How
can I get it to auto shutoff again? What may be the cause of this?
Thank you for any help.

The first thing to try would be °Mike°'s maintenance page:
http://uk.geocities.com/personel44/maintenance.html
If unsuccessful, follow Jim Eshelman's shut down advice:
http://www.aumha.org/win4/a/shutdown.htm
Good Luck! Please post back for additional help.

Make sure that enhanced power management is installed, and
also enabled in the BIOS.
