With the
A7N8X-X nForce2 400 Athlon(XP)/Duron SktA DDR ATX mboard w/Audiio LAN
Retail Pack-- 200/266/333/400FSB ATA/133 AGP 8X 3DDR DIMM 5PCI USB 2.0
Audio LAN
Motherboard, and the
Maxtor 6L200M0 200GB Serial ATA 7200rpm 8MB Hard Drive, will I need a
controller? Or have they worked out that 130gig limitation thing?

Look up the manual on the Asus site
(http://support.asus.com/download/dow...Language=en-us)
There you will find that this is NOT a SATA equiped MB so yes, you will
need a controller card for that HDD.

If you are talking about hd size limitation (137gb) this is a 'feature' of
the bios and also of the win service pack.

I'm sorry, I didn't realise that ASUS have actually stripped out features
for the new models. If you want SATA go for the A7N8X-E-Deluxe which has
onboard SATA, dual channel RAM, gigabit ethernet, firewire and soundstorm
Dolby Digital audio.

To answer your original question SATA and ATA-133 will both cope with
drives larger than 137 GB

but you will need at least Windows XP sp1 or Windows 2000 sp3.
