computers...

you an e-mail address for perpetual motion products?

A system of complex coordinates will plot a function of comlex quantities.
One axis real and the coordinate axis imaginary. Of course on a real number
domain with only real numbers you can't plot that equation. Doesn't mean it
doesn't exist. It just doesn't exist in the domain of real numbers.

<snip>
1949...
yep...that's the year I was born.
I've got a great memory...but can't go back much past 1952.

I recall that when they did road construction...they'd erect those wooden
and wire-mesh cyclone fences...and instead of battery operated , yellow
flashing lights...
they'd light kerosene smudge-pots.

Even though I was just 3 years old...
I was quite good in my understanding of science...
only I did not have things quite right.

I recall having a small bucket of water and then adding sand to it.
The sand of course fell to the bottom (and I did not see it) and as I added
sand...
the bucket overflowed.

I was really surprised...as there was a gap of several inches between the
water
and the top of the bucket... Then...all in a flash I made the "realization"
that when
you put sand into a bucket of water...the sand turns to water!

It seemed very incredible to me...but being all of 3 years old...did not
know any better.

Next...I wanted to share my new "discovery" with my friends in a very
impressive way.

So I dumped out the bucket (probably not even noticing the sand at the
bottom) and filled it
most of the way with sand...
Then I told all my friends:
"Watch this!" And placed the bucket under a water spigot...in excited
anticipation
of watching all the sand turn into water!!!!
Well obviously all I got was a little wet sand...and all my friends
wondering what the big deal was...
I was so puzzled...all I said was "Well it worked, just a minute ago...I
don't know why it's not working now!"

I then went into the house and my parents explained Archimedes principle to
me!

Funny thing is... I understood it perfectly...
Too bad I didn't go running outside yelling" Eureka!"

Archimedes had a wonderful screw that we use today. Many irrigations,

One of my favorite memories from early childhood
was going down to the railroad tracks.
The train engineer and the kids would get in squirt-gun fights!
