- Cannot double click office document
- Posted by JasonCSS12 on February 10th, 2006
I am using Office 2000. When I double click an office document, it does not
open the document. It
will open the program, but not the document. I then have to go to file-Open
and open the document this way. If the document was an email attachment in
Outlook, it says it cannot find the file specified. I have to save the
file, open the appropriate program, go file-open to open the file.
Please help in this matter, as it is driving me crazy!!!!
Thanks in advance,
Jason

Right click on your office document.
You should get the option "open with"
Choose the program
There should be a check box so that all files with the same extension open
with that program.
Or go into windows explorer and make sure under tools/folder options that
the document extension (e.g. .doc) is associated with the proper program.
Otherwise reinstall Office.
