- Class Not Registered
- Posted by Dave on March 23rd, 2008
For the past week, when I try to play a DVD on my laptop with anything, I
get an error, Class Not Registered. I can play any other type of
audio/video/pics. Just not DVDs.
Been through Google/Yahoo and tried all the fixes but nothing. Reinstalled
MP11 and IE7 and nothing.
Anyone have an idea?
Thanks

Try reinstalling Divx?

Uninstalled Divx, rarely used it. Nero any HD stuff. Anything with a
weird codec.
Deleted the drive and video card and re-installed them.
same thing

Sorry I meant to say try reinstalling Directx from Microsoft

did that last night. Installed Divx6 re-booted then un installed it. Still
showed 3 .dlls that it said were needed by the system and crashed when I
tried to delete them.
Not a big deal to pop it in the TV DVD Player, but seems irritating I can't
play it here. Maybe the drive is weird.

Well, here's what I just did. Already had DX0. Re-installed Divx 6.7 I
think with all the codecs
re-registered them.
Found some DVD Player called Super DVD Player or something. Installed that,
re-booted and now all works
Go figure
We'll see what happens over the next few days.
Thanks again for the help. Was at my last nerve
