- Clearing out Wanadoo.
- Posted by Hank on June 5th, 2005
For a short time my ISP was Wanadoo. When I left them, I cleared out all I
could using seach/delete and 'Add or remove programmes.' There are still a
few odd bits in the PC that show their name and logo occasionally but I
cannot track down to take out. Can anyone out there help?
Thanks,
H.

Probably in the Registry, ie "Internet Explorer by Wanadoo" etc.

were Freeserve, but since Wanadoo took over the binary groups are full

today's litigious (sp?) climate, but I used to like getting my OTR radio

I never use their branded software, just their phone-number and nothing
else. There may be an app online somewhere to de-brand your PC, similar
things exist for other ISP's, or re-install IE (better still remove IE
and/or change to Firefox). Good luck finding something.

Oops, this wasn't good advice, as you'll still need it if you do manual
windows updates, last time I tried Firefox didn't work for this. An
alternative is to download updates from softwarepatch.com but they only
have the critical updates plus a few optionals, not the full scope of
windowsupdate.com
