Compact Flash Reader (USB)
Posted by Dave on August 25th, 2003

I installed a compact flash reader (from company called "PNY") on my XP Home
machine USB port. It worked the first time, of course, since XP recognizes
the memory media as just another drive. However, on a Windows 98 2nd
Edition machine, no luck so far. I ran the driver-installation program
(downloaded exectable from the company's website) but Windows 98 can't find
the driver. I told the machine to look in several different Windows
directories (after searching h.d. to see where files with names similar to
downloaded executable were located), but no luck.

Has anyone had any experience with this particular problem or can anyone
offer suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

Did you install the software prior to hooking the hardware up to the
computer. That is a common problem with the hardware was attached to
a 98 machine before the software was installed.
