Posted by Bryn Davies on November 3rd, 2003

I just got BT Yahoo broadband, now my connection icon says that the speed is
576kbps however I ran a speed check & my download speed was 85kbps & my
upload speed was 270kbps...
Could someone please explain.

Bryn

Since posting this on the wrong newsgroup I have check seveal other things
includoing Bt own speed check & the small file (5mb) which should have taken
1 min 45sec took about 15mins..... (did it several time & a couple came out
at over an hour!!!!). I also ran the previous speed check off peak & re ran
them today & got the same results.

I've heard bad reports of BT Yahoo Broadband. You'd be much much better off
with the cheaper ntl broadband if it is available in your area.

test site. It's possible that the site you used for the test happened to be
busy at the time causing the low results. If you still get slow results you
may need to adjust your registry settings.
I would strong urge you to download Drtcp from broadbandreports.com:
