- Control Panel-> Network Connections Icon not fuctional
- Posted by alexander.huber@gmail.com on September 28th, 2005
Computer: IBM Thinkpad T42; Windows XP all apropriate updates
installed. Computer is joined and connect to a Domain Controler on our
LAN.
The simptom of the problem was that a VPN icon on the users desktop was
changed to blank page icon that I did not recognize and it was not
functional. I them went to Control Panel in classic view and checked
the network connections icon there. It too had to change to an icon
that looked like a page and was not fuctional. All of the other icons
on the control panel appered to working fine. I restarted the computer
with same results. So far no other computers on our LAN have been
affected this way.
I have never seen this happen before. I would like a solutions that
does require reinstalling the operating system. Any help would be
appreciated.
