- Copying DVDr troubles.
- Posted by Lee Davison on June 25th, 2004
Hi,
Ive just got a DVD writer this afternoon with the purpose of copying some
DVD-Rs. Using the bundled Nero software on 3 out of 5 of the dics ive tried
the meter gets to about 78% then stops, and the DVD is wasted. Could someone
suggest an alternative to Nero, I have to get these done before Monday.
Also, Am i right in saying that because I have a CDRW drive and a DVD RW
drive, I have to copy DVDs by making an image onto the comp, then burning
that image back onto DVD. I tried writing directly by putting the DVD into
the CDRW tray but it wouldnt have it so guess its because it could read it.
Is there some (free downloadable) DVD ripper software I could use?
Regards
Lee

Try using the freeware DVD Decrypter to copy an ISO image of the DVD-R.
Then, use DVD Decrypter to burn that image to a blank DVD-R. And no, your
CDRW drive cannot be used to read DVD media.

What is the error? Considering Nero is probably the best general purpose
burning software on the market, you probably have either poor media or a
cheap writer.

burning the DVD's, or getting low on memory and/or hard drive
space.... Probably low on hard drive space.... Though I'd bet he's
also not counting on the fact that the movies are most likely
protected and using nero as a disc->disc copy won't work....
