Could a Promise Ultra 33 ATA disk controller card be install on an XP machine?
Posted by Jack on January 11th, 2006

I got this card from an old Win 98 setup and like to install in a spare Win
XP machine. Ultra 33 is no longer supported from the Promise site (no
drivers, no software, no manual, no nothing) and my old software doesn't
have the XP drivers. I got couple of XP drivers from the Driverguide site
but none works. Did anyone get the Ultra 33 working on a XP machine? If so
where can I get those drivers? Thanks!

Have you tried this NT driver for the Ultra 33/66/100?

Thanks Fred. I gave up yesterday and pull out an old Maxtor ATA 133 and it
work just fine. I 'll keep the above reference in mine in case I have a use
for the Ultra 33 on another spare XP machine again.

I suggest you download the driver now, you don't know how long it'll be
there.
