A colleague's machine is running Windows ME and Outlook, and I need to
extract the data from Outlook in order to restore it to an XP machine.
What's the default location for Outlook files, and what format are they
typically held in?

Outlook uses .PST files and OE uses .DBX files. Search for them. You may
need to tell Windows to display hidden files/folders.
But if *I* were doing what you're doing, I'd network the two computers and
use the XP File and Settings Transfer Wizard. That's what it's there for...

Thanks for the info - much appreciated.
Can't follow your useful suggestion, as the old machine is going to be
upgraded to XP, so I need to draw the data off the old hard drive before
formatting and reinstalling the OS.
