How can I change the color of my desktop icon font? I have recently
downloaded a white desktop and now cannot see the names of my desktop items.

Thank you

Right click a blank spot on your display, Properties, Appearance,
It's in the Advanced area.

I've tried this more than once. It will allow me to change the font,
the font size, make it bold or put it into italics. However, it will not
allow me to change the color of the font. the color box will not give me
the chance to change it.

You aren't changing the right thing...change "Selected Items". That
does it for when you select the item, not when it is just sitting there.
