- Dial up Modem Problems
- Posted by buffy on October 25th, 2003
Recently after connecting (to Freeserve Anytime) i frequently get cut off
after about 5 minutes. When it automatically redials it is then fine for the
next 2 hours. Anybody like to guess whether this is a modem problem or an
ISP problem.
Win XP
Thanks

You probably have OE set to retrieve mail on startup,
and disconnect after sending and receiving checked.
Tools / Option / Connections / Change / Settings ...
Dial up settings / Advanced ... Uncheck 'Disconnect if
idle for more than...', and uncheck 'Disconnect when
connection may no longer be needed'.
