DirectX 9.0b
Posted by Wim van der Scheur \(demon\) on November 30th, 2003

Hello,
Recently I have downloaded from the official Microsoft Updatsite an DirectX
9.0b file. After that I had problems with the display of the menu of some
games. (like NFS Hot Pursuit 2) Then I downloaded an update for my graphic
card, NVidea GeForce Ti 4200. It was version: 52.16. The menu problems were
solved.
But..... a new problem appeared when I installed Max Payne 2. After
installing I started the game and this message appeared:
Max Payne 2 requires a Microsoft DirectX 9.0 compatible display adapter.

I tried the DirectX that came with the game but the problem was still there.
The Direct3D test were ok. so there shouldn 't be a problem with my card.

Is there a way I can repair the system, or is reinstalling my system the
only alternative?

I would be very thankfull if someone could help.

Greetings from Wim.

The 4200 is not a DX9 capable card. It's DX8 capable.
