DMI Problem
Posted by ALAN MEWS on March 1st, 2004

Hi everyone
Had a bad 'fault' on one of my PCs. Fitted a new floppy and hard drive, but
still it won't get past the initial start-up screen. In others words, it
won't boot into Windows. Just stops at ........DMI fault, or some other
words that I can't remember at present.

It's a AMD, plenty of RAM and runs Windows 98.
Is it possible a viral fault? Any help please.
Alan

Had this error once - it was a bit of a mare!

I'd recommend scanning for boot sector viruses first using a known clean
boot disk. If nothing found, try the suggestions here...

Thanks Guys and maybe gals
Sorry to be a bit sparse on the details, had written it all down but lot the
paper and I'm slightly epileptic. The meds don't allow the memory to spark
up

Anyway, thanks again.
Pete
