- Drive reads DVD but not CD
- Posted by Peter on November 7th, 2004
I recently upgraded my computer to a new hard disk and Windows XP.
Someplace along the line (I have done a lot of work on the computer
since then, so am not sure exactly when) the DVD/CD drive stopped
working.
Actually, it reads DVDs fine (data and movies) but does not recognize
CDs (data or music), and says Windows does not recognize the format.
The drive appears to be working (I switched drives with a colleague
who experienced the same problem, and nothing changed). The Toshiba
and IBM websites don't have any useful information that I can find,
nor does a Google search.
The drive is a Toshiba SD-C2512 and the computer is an IBM T23.
Any ideas would be much appreciated!!!
