Did a fresh install of Windows last night and everything seemed to
be going OK. Woke up today and went about reinstalling some of the
programs that I use. About a hour ago I noticed that my DVD-ROM and
DVD-RW were no longer showing up. Going into Device Manager they are
both shown but with a Black ! on a yellow background.
Tried doing a uninstall and then restarting the computer but that
leads nowhere except that a balloon shows up stating that a new
devices have been found but they still do not show up.
Tried the Troubleshoot button for each device in Device Manager
and that comes up with something like "A Driver 4 this device has been
disabled. An alternate driver may be the cause. (Code 32) "
At least I think thats what it said if my memory serves me.
Any help much appreciated before I attempt to install XP once
again.......BC
