DVD Copiers speeds

Many new machines have a DVD re writer.

I am confused as some of the expensive machine only write at 2x or 2.4x.

I saw a note in this group that for duplicating a DVD you need at least 8x.

Any comments please.

The slower you write, the less chance of errors.

Of course you don't need that. You can copy at singel speed, but you need
patience.

Build your own computer so you can control what goes into it. Most "pre-fab"
computers come wth sub-par hardware. I burn hundreds of DVDs and would not
want anything but the best burner.

Right now you can get burners that will do 16X. But, media that burns at 16X
is really expensive right now. So, what you want to do is get a 16X burner,
but use 4X or 8X media for now.

If you have a high-end burner (under $100US these days) and use good quality
media then you shouldn't have much trouble in the way of burn errors.
